The pool. It is evening now, after a sunny day at the end of August. Southern California.
The middle of suburbia. The pool where you come to wash away your sins.
Overgrown grass surrounds the pool because nobody has come out to swim for months.
IAN walks towards the pool.
He watches the water, counting the ripples in his head. Ian picks up one of Sam’s tee shirts.
He pulls it close to his face and smells it. He changes his shirt to Sam’s, throwing his own on the ground.
